It started as a little guessing game today. Is it gonna be a repeat of last week’s weather or are we going to be blessed? There’s nothing to do but take a chance, after all Columbus did. We jump on the bike and it’s off to the SBU meeting at the FRA. We were fortunate and had a dry ride into town.

Kimo was at Zippy’s getting the troops ready to meet up with me and Sparky after the SBU meeting. In attendance were Richard, Vinnie, Pat (welcome back), Bucky, Dandy, Red, Rudy, Marc, Jim (Cooper), Bridget, Calvin, Tom, Kimo, myself and our permanent quest Joseph, along with Ohana members Twila, Fran, Staci, Sparky with our youngest guest, 9 year old Vinnie Jr. Mom gave him special instructions to take care of Dad.

They pull into the FRA to gather Sparky and me to hit the roads. After welcoming Pat (Aka) back, we introduced the new Road Guard Captain Marc Kodama to his 2 year appointment. After much comraderie and talkin story, road guards are assigned and it’s off to see the island.

We are just excited to be off after missing a week due to rainy weather. We head down Nimitz and cruise through Waikiki. The tourists are out and about after last week’s scare of a tsunami. It’s a leisurely ride and we smile and wave as we see people grabbing pix of our group. Gotta “Shaka’ that! We’re headed for our first stop at Jack in the Box in Waimanalo with Cal bringing up the rear as caboose. Then he’s headed off to be with the wife.

We do what we do best, talk more story, grab snacks and just enjoy each other’s company. We share our day to day lives and listen to our friends share their lives with us as we check on their loved ones, after all we are a family in every sense of the word. Then it’s on to lunch.

Well another beautiful day for all. The skies looked overcast and there was a mist off and on but we were blessed. Sparky and I headed off as we had things to do. A few others had obligations, while a few others decided to go around the island a little longer and meet with a few other members. All in all another day of unity was had by all.
